Elizabeth
Israel

Owner, LMT, and Yoga Instructor

For Elizabeth, yoga all started when she wanted to offer something to help with home care for her massage clients. Born and raised in Nebraska (the Heartland), where yoga was slow to arrive, she started doing yoga with videos! Wanting to deepen her understanding of yoga in order to help her massage clients with the benefits of yoga, she started out small with a weekend teaching course, moved on to a 200 hour hatha/vinyasa course and then decided she had a love of Kundalini so went to Bali to get her 200 hour KRI certification. She is now ERYT200 and YACEP and finishing up her RYT500.

Elizabeth decided to combine her two passions, massage therapy and yoga, and open up a unique day spa and yoga studio to bring these two practices together. Elizabeth owns and operates Avani Day Spa and Yoga Studio in Hastings, Nebraska. She has been a massage therapist for over 14 years, including swedish, deep tissue, cupping, hot stone, thai, and level 2 Reiki. She has an instinctive ability to create a unique massage experience for all of her clients.

Elizabeth’s class style is playful, non judgemental, infused with humor, filled with modifications, optional challenges, and a big heart full of love and understanding. Don’t be fooled by her love of gentle flows and yin/restorative tendencies as she is still able to kick it up with a sweat pouring power class or invigorating Kundalini Kriya! Her goal being a yoga teacher and a student is to embrace the benefits of yoga, live it to the best of her ability and share in the struggle with others, allowing each person to understand that yoga and life is a journey!

Elizabeth has a deep love of travel. Even though she grew up in the Midwest, her family traveled throughout the USA extensively. She took her travels internationally as an exchange student in Sweden, and later a year in Hungary. Since then, she has traveled to more than 15 other countries, the most recent being India and Bali for yoga learning and teaching opportunities.

Elizabeth views being a massage therapist, a yoga student, and a yoga teacher as a beautiful, never ending journey.
